Not many times does a trade actually work out for both teams. In 2016 Blue Jackets center Ryan Johansen fell out of favor with newly crowned head coach John Tortorella. Seth Jones, was seen as an up and coming elite defesive player.
Seth Jones, in just five NHL seasons has become a truly amazing player. There are times he pokes the puck away or gets to a would be shot and fans have no idea how he got there.
He makes the Blue Jackets, defense a fantastic unit. It is true he is on the first line with his line mate Zach Werenski and they are a nasty pairing. But, Jones has been paired with all of the Columbus blueliners with the execption on Ian Cole.
Seth, has been voted and named to the past two all-star games. It is only a matter of time before “Jonesy” wins a James Norris Memorial Trophy as the top defensman in the league.
Columbus Blue Jackets fans should enjoy Seth. He is a great player who makes the players around him better. While frustrating opposing offensive players. He is hands down the best defensive player the Blue Jackets have ever had.
