The Book of Boba Fett Season 1, episode 1 review

*****Spoilers ahead*****

The who, what, where, when, and how regarding just how Boba Fett who was thought to be dead after falling into the Sarlacc Pit in Return of the Jedi have finally been addressed. This went a long way in explaining how the popular Star Wars character was able to show up in The Mandalorian. Wednesday, The Book of Boba Fett premiered on Disney Plus, some fans were satisfied some were not. As with anything Star Wars fan wise that is par for the course.

While I was on the fence as to whether or not Boba Fett should have his own show, that was quickly put to ease. It’s not that I did not or do not like Fett, he was always a background character with a supposed unfortunate death.

The Book of Boba Fett, Season 1, episode 1, was told in flashback form for a chunk of the show. What was nice was that Fett escaping the Sarlacc Pit was made cannon and not just a passage in the Tails from Jabba’s Palace novel.

Jawa’s find Fett who was passed out in part from escaping, in part because he was covered in stomach acid. The Jawa’s take his armor which explained how Cobb Vanth ended up with and wearing Fett’s armor in The Mandalorian. We also hear about a mysterious mayor, which I have some thoughts on that. But that is for another time.

Boba Fett is then captured buy a group of Tuskin Raiders. He is held captive at their camp site until he saves one of the children, which sheds light on how Fett and the Tuskin Raiders have respect for each other again in The Mandalorian.

Star Wars fans were spilt on the kickoff show. Some said it was too slow, while others liked the pacing. I happen to like the pacing. There was a lot of back story to fill in, in order to catch fans up on Fett and episode 1 did just that.

I am interested to see where this goes. Not to mention to find out how Fennec Shand will use her skills  as an expert assassin during the course of the show. It feels like the show is going to pick up the pace going forward.

All and all, The Book of Boba Fett’s premier show was satisfying  if not spectacular which again feels like is coming.

Will the Book of Boba Fett have a Luke Skywalker moment?

Seldom does a t. v. show give viewers what they really want. In the final episode of Season 2 of The Mandalorian, Disney did just that as Luke Skywalker made a cameo and filled the hearts of Star Wars fans worldwide. Today as The Book of Boba Fett has been released for streaming, I can not help but wonder if the show will have a moment like The Mandalorian?

Star Wars is filled with beloved classic characters which is why when Luke Skywalker appeared on The Mandalorian it felt right. The old Star Wars magic was back and it was glorious. Hopefully that will continue going forward.

If The Book of Boba Fett follows suit, then the show could really go a long way in washing the bad taste left from the sequel trilogy. It then would become critical to bring the right character back.

If you remember Jabba the Hutt’s spokesmen Bib Fortuna also had a cameo in The Mandalorian but was killed by Boba Fett so he’s out of the running. There is one character who would both fit the timeline and make sense, Han Solo.

Boba Fett and Han Solo have had some interesting moments starting in A New Hope through Return of the Jedi. Not to mention the whole carbon freezing chamber, cargo hold moment in The Empire Strikes Back.

If Solo is brought back (or like Luke Skywalker, his likeness) it would create more trust from fans who lost trust in Disney to create quality Star Wars material.

I am not saying this will happen, I do not know any rumors nor do I have any connection to spoilers. I just have the hope that given due to the way The Mandalorian Season 2 ended on such a high, feel good note that Disney will carry that into the Boba Fett streaming show.

Will favorite Star Wars characters make and appearance in The Book of Boba Fett

When we last saw Boba Fett it was in Season 2 of The Mandalorian. Now the hotly anticipated Book of Boba Fett release is just around the corner (December 29) it begs to ask, will we see any favorite Star Wars characters pop up in the show? Like Luke Skywalker, Grogu or Thrawn? It would make sense if that was the case.

Luke Skywalker took Grogu at the end of Season 2, presumably to train him in the way of the Jedi. If one or both were to show up in The Book of Boba Fett it would have to fit two story lines in order to become one.

A character like Thrawn is not just a throw-in for the sake of putting someone cool into a show. For those unfamiliar with Thrawn, is along the lines of Thanos in Marvel, or the Joker in DC. In other words Thrawn is a big deal.

In fact the focus probably should lean more towards Thrawn. Simply because  Ahsoka Tano was also in Season 2 of The Mandalorian. Tano would lead fights against Thrawn in Star Wars Rebels. Because Ahsoka is getting her own show and because she (if you recall) was looking for Thrawn in Season 2 it would fit the story line.

That said if Mando (The Mandalorian) did swing a deal with Fett that he would keep close tabs on Grogu as he was being trained by Luke then it is possible he also could turn up or both could when streaming starts in a couple weeks.

GRAND ADMIRAL THRAWN

So here we sit waiting out the days until The Book of Boba Fett is release. All we can do is speculate and perhaps allow fandom thoughts to override our thoughts an imagination.

Star Wars allows us to do that, it’s part of the Force.

Boba Fett to lead a fight against Crimson Dawn?

The highly anticipated Disney + streaming show, The Book of Boba Fett is set to kick off December 29. The show will focus on Boba Fett along with his partner Fennec Shand and their role in running the Star Wars underworld that was once ruled by Jabba the Hutt. In fact the two appear to set up base in Jabba’s old palace on Tatooine.

Now rumor has it that a certain group will challenge Boba and Fennec’s authority in  ruling the underworld. That group is none other than Crimson Dawn. The crime syndicate founded and once lead by Maul.

Crimson Dawn became known to Star Wars fans during the events of Solo: A Star Wars story. You will recall that Han Solo’s love interest Qi-ra killed her  boss Dryden Vos to take over Crimson Dawn with Maul as her boss.

With that as the backdrop, there was a struggle for control of the Star Wars underworld. Qi-ra had remodeled Crimson Dawn into a band of criminal rebels . You’ll need to watch the trailer for The Book of Boba Fett or re-watch it here:

There seems to be an indication that Boba who says he intends to rule with respect and Fennec come into some conflict. I am convinced it is with Crimson Dawn. Which would mean the return of Qi-ra as well.

That leads to another question, will we also see Maul? If so that would lead into Kenobi which is set air on Disney + next year as Obi-Wan and Maul fought on Tatooine.

We will all find out soon enough. But, The Book of Boba Fett has the making of a very good story. Again, I full expect a Fett/ Fennec vs Crimson Dawn struggle to take place for control. It should please Star Wars fans everywhere.

The Book of Boba Fett has wrapped production, The Mandalorian Season 3 to start filming soon

With Star Wars making a comeback in the eyes of many fans through Disney +’s The Mandalorian and The Bad Batch, fans have been waiting to see what is next from the galaxy far far away. It is now known that The Book of Boba Fett has finished production and is set to start airing Christmas Day 2021. We now know The Mandalorian Season 3 will begin production soon.

Gincarlo Esposito, who plays Moff Gideon on The Mandalorian and has grown into a fan favorite as he hunts down Mando and The Child, recently let it known that Season 3 is set to begin filming soon.

While many die-hard Star Wars fans are indeed chomping at the bit to see The Book of Boba Fett, The Mandalorian has a huge following and fans are equally as excited for Season 3. As Star Wars is in the midst of all aspects being linked together.

What draws fans to the hit streaming show is the feel of Star Wars that was lacking from the Sequel Trilogy. The Mandalorian came in and in one swoop washed away most of the nervous ticks left from Episodes 7-9.

Throw in the hit streaming show The Bad Batch and Star Wars is riding high again. With the newest Star Wars installs, and the fact that all things Star Wars are being put under one arc fans are happy.

An already ecstatic fan base is not only happy with where the Star Wars franchise is currently but there is also the anticipation of where it is going as new shows and films are in the works.

With The Bad Batch Season 1 coming to an end, fans are now going to focus on The Book of Boba Fett which gets them closer to Season 3 of The Mandalorian.

The Force is strong with Star Wars again!

Disney +’s “The Book of Boba Fett” is rumored to be multiple seasons

When Boba Fett entered Jabba the Hutt’s palace and sat down on his throne, at the end of Season 2 of Disney +’s smash hit “The Mandalorian” fans drooled with anticipation as “The Book of Boba Fett” was announced. The main question surrounding the announcement was would the new Star Wars offering be a one and done show like the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi show? A new rumor says no.

Boba Fett, one the the most beloved Star Wars characters in the Star Wars universe made his triumphant return to the Star Wars scene in this past season of “The Mandalorian.” How was this possible you may ask?

According to the old Star Wars Legends  book (which were not considered cannon) Fett used his jetpack while inside the Sarlaac Pit in which he had fallen into during the sail barge incident in “Return of the Jedi.”

Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni allowed that to become cannon when the old Bounty Hunter returned. The “Book of Boba Fett” show is working under the title of “Buccaneer” the crew was given some stickers for working on production.

Notice the sticker that reads “Star Wars, The Book of Boba Fett,” also reads Season 1 under the heading. Hinting that there will be more than one season. The news was joyful to Star Wars fans.

Not only did a popular character return. Not only was he getting his own spinoff show. But now it appears that show will be more than one seasons. How many seasons? That is the million dollar question. But for now knowing it will be more is good enough.
